The Doodler Update: Week 22
We are now into Week 22 Sammy has been holding the fort strong while Stitch and Chrissie get over their collective jet lag. Short of a few minor Rigging issues Sammy has done a good job of getting Barnabas ready for our short. The video above shows an initial walk cycle Sammy knocked up for Benjamin, its a little flimsy but the real reason was watching how Benjamin and the environment looked together.
Everything seems to be mixing quite nicely with Stitch’s 3D characters in Chrissies Paddington 2D style world. Sammy has been busy experimenting with the textures of the characters to make sure everything gels nicely. We are all quite happy with the result (see the film strip below). We did get feedback from both Alan & Phil via comments on the Official polydoodle blog, we are glad to report that they re as happy as we are.
Above you can see some image highlights from our blog for this week (week 22). If you wish to see the posts themselves please visit the Polydoodle Pictures studio blog.
No tutorials this week but Sammy did knock up a nice Barnabas turnaround of her rigging effort (please check out the video above). There were a couple of problems with the joint orientation of the character as well as some grouping issues in the rig. Luckily Stitch had rig master Ethan Shilling advising him on any immediate trouble shooting issues, which there were a few. Facial rigging will be next!
