The Doodler Update: Week 24
Well here we are it is Week 24 we only have 8 weeks until D-Day and we are just reaching our animation stage. Stitch has been rigging the 2 main 3D characters (the other 2 were dropped due to time constraints). We basically made a strategic decision to give us more time animating and rendering. The video above is Stitch skinning the Benjamin mesh, this entire week has essentially been about the 3D characters.
Sammy and Chrissie have been working on the introduction of our short which is mostly comprised of animated 2D planes in 3D environments. The plan this week is for Stitch to get the 2 key characters fully rigged for next week when animation is to begin. All of Polydoodle is nervous for this animation will be the culmination of a yearlong effort, everything is looking amazing we just have to animate it right.

No tutorial again this week but there have been a hell of a lot of videos being created by Polydoodle Stitch. The 4 videos above all correlate to our 2 chief characters Benjamin and Barnabas. They have 2 videos each one showing the creation of the rig and the other testing the facial controls. Rest assured next week everything should get a little more interesting as we get into 3D animation.
