The Doodler Update: Week 26
Here it is week 26 and things are finally ago, Sammy and Chrissie have been working on their respective animated sections of the short. Sammy & Chrissie’s sections have been combined to form an initial first pass blocking render (please check out the video above). Stitch’s has yet to make it into the mix but he has been working away on making a more refined blocking pass of his shots. There will be more to come!
In other news Chrissie has also been finishing her 2D characters which are now being integrated onto their 3D planes in Maya, some of them will even be animated. To those of you that do not know our short combines 2D elements with 3D, getting these 2D elements to animate has been the largest challenge yet. So far everything seems to be coming together in camp Polydoodle, so keep checking back.
Above you can see some image highlights from our blog for this week (week 26). If you wish to see the posts themselves please visit the Polydoodle Pictures studio blog.
Polydoodle First Pass Discussion
As far as tutorials go for this week we did sit down together (the audio clip above) and go through Sammy and Chrissie’s combined first pass animations. Stitch showed his separate sections to the group via quicktime just so everyone knew where they were. These animations will be continually worked on by the group within Maya’s graph editing system. At this stage we are merely looking to see that the story is being told in basic stiff and rigid action, real animation follows.
