The Doodler Update: Week 2

This week in “the Doodler” Polydoodle Pictures has been narrowing down story ideas all while sketching up more crude characters and forms. We have also been exploring various environment styles to keep in sync with our railway poster art. Our base forms for the characters “Barnabas” and “Benjamin” have also been finalized meaning we can begin considering their features and key details. There is also a small summer feature (video above) of my business partner “Ross Castle May” Wood Burning the Polydoodle Chest.

As we go into Week 3 we have our goals in mind, we need to finalize the character designs for our chief characters. We also have to begin setting the scene for our short. Week 4 will likely see us beginning to move into digital sets in Maya. You will probably have to wish me luck there…

Above you can see some image highlights from our blog for this week (week 2). If you wish to see the posts themselves please visit the Polydoodle Pictures studio blog.

Alan Tutorial

Phil Tutorial

Discussions this week with Phil & Alan have seen us trying to iron out more of the narrative details more or less on the behest of “& Sons” absent mother. We basically need to establish her absence, the absence of her encouragement for the creativity of our father and son. It is going to be a sad tale indeed!!
